Notes on Blue (printed zine)

Notes on Blue is a capsule of my personal thoughts, photographs and ties to the singular color. It is inspired by Maggie Nelson’s book Bluets, while taking a more visual approach to my understanding of the color. The photographs depicted in the zine are found and taken, each image was manipulated in photoshop to submerge each page in a shade of blue creating an aesthetically cohesive zine that analyzes the political and poetic impact a color can have on one’s life.

Year of the Bunny (Fabric Zine)
The Year of the Bunny is a culmination of mixed media art to tell a story. The tale is a collection of fragments of moments: photographs of dear friends, sentimental places, and symbolic motifs. The collection of these photographs runs parallel to poetry and a frenzy of scribbled down ideas. The book works to blend modern means of design production with the familiarity of fabric. The Year of the Bunny is the first leap of an on-going project focused on fabrication, storytelling, and sustainability that will move and evolve over the span of the year.

Luablu (Digital Zine)
Luablu is forgotten and found, materials collected from the sea to junk drawers in my childhood home. It is a culmination of old fabrics and contemporary styles. The design is inspired by the woman described in Labri Siffree’s song ‘blue lady.’ She is a woman of a whimsical nature, and a wool-gatherer of sorts. Someone who lives sentimentally. The zine marks the identity of Luablu through a collection of various materials from handmade to curated.
