Cotton Tail White Set & Baby Blue Brooch
A dress made from two materials: a vintage Dior slip and my great-grandmother's passed-down garments. The bodice features the lacey, reworked slip dress sewn into a drop-waist silhouette with a scallop trim on the hem. The design explores the idea of incorporating sentimental stories into clothes that cling to our bodies. This ensemble quietly enters the casual bridal wear scene. The beaded, embellished blue brooch adds a playful touch and is my lucky something blue.
Maria Antonia Chemise
A modern representation of the controversial “country wear” Marie Antoinette wore in the solitude of her Petit Trianon Chateau. Resembling a nightgown, the garment is redesigned for daywear, challenging the rules of when and where clothes are expected to be worn. The chemise is made of scraps from my great-grandmother’s undergarments she wore in Cypress in the early 1900’s.
Ivory Swan Skirt & Dusty Blue Swan Top
The ivory wrap swan midi skirt draws inspiration from 19th-century duster skirts, once worn by women as an underlayer. Its silhouette is simple, incorporating scraps of cotton and lace from bed skirts, doilies, and pillowcases. A black silk swan, embellished on the design, brings the natural world into the piece. My fascination with swans — devoted animals that mate for life — takes abstract form in both the blue blouse and the wrap skirt.
Wool-gatherer Horn Handle Bag
A brown suede shoulder bag made from scrap leather. The horn handle is a way of integrating natural materials into my designs. The horn is wrapped in strips of brown leather to withstand heavy-duty use. Made to carry stone fruit, piles of fabric, and seashells from the shore, this 1 of 1 piece is made for wanderers and collectors.
Waves Dress & Fish Candy Earrings
The particular shade of blue in the dress's seams was achieved through repeated dyeing, layering color until the desired hue emerged. The dangly, translucent blue earrings are handwoven from beads into a braided, layered design — both a testament to my love of the sea.
The Bunny Dress
This mini dress is constructed from recycled garments, pieced together to create an asymmetric embroidered trim. The bodice is made from soft pointelle fabric, while the skirt opens at the hip to reveal layers of patchwork and embroidered detailing. Playful and nostalgic, the piece draws on the memory of a dress I wore as a child.
The Apron Dress
The apron dress is constructed from an antique Swedish apron, carefully patched together to create a seamless wrap-dress silhouette with an open back. The piece explores the reimagining of historical gender roles through clothing—taking a garment traditionally associated with women’s domestic labor and a prescribed social role, and transforming it into a contemporary form that challenges and redefines its original function.
The Quarterback Tee
A vintage men’s oversized T-shirt reimagined through a feminine silhouette. The soft white cotton has been carefully reshaped into a more fitted form, while the number “10” is embroidered on the back, referencing the visual language of classic sportswear. A true “borrowed from the boys” piece, the garment plays with the contrast between masculine codes and a distinctly feminine fit.
